Do you…stop and smell the roses?

It’s Thursday today.

In Dubai, that means it’s a Friday. Weekends here are Fridays and Saturdays.

(Cheers to the freakin’ weekend by Rihana is definitely on my mind right now).

I don’t plan on discussing my weekend plans on here (Instagram…maybe). So hold up before rushing off to the next article…

This past week, I seriously caught myself off guard when I thought it was Tuesday, when in reality it was Wednesday! I’m sure it’s happened to everyone before.

What do you do when you realize you’re not living in the moment? That you’re maybe living for tomorrow and not today? Do you really stop and smell the roses?

I tend to zip through my day and forget to stop and smell the roses (there aren’t THAT many roses to smell in Dubai’s heat right now anyway).

So if you’re like me, and tend to forget, here are three quotes from the book “The Present” by Spencer Johnson:

“When you live and work with purpose, and respond to what is important today,
you are more able to lead, manage, support, befriend and love.”

“When you want to be happier and more effective, it is time to be in the present moment.”

The day’s not over yet, so don’t stress over spilled milk.

“You cannot change the past, but you can learn from it.
When the same situation arises, you can do things differently
and become happier and more effective and successful
today.”

Hope this article helps brighten up your day a little, and if not…it’s the weekeeend hello!
