What’s YOUR Why?

I’ve come across a lot of articles that pretty much have the same message of “doing what you love and ditching what you don’t”. Got a job you don’t like? Then, according to those articles, you should quit.

I’ve come across a lot of articles that pretty much have the same message of “doing what you love and ditching what you don’t”.

Got a job you don’t like? Then, according to those articles, you should quit.

“Boatload of laundry and not feeling it? Don’t do it”.

“Assignments and deadlines? Screw them!”.

I’m sure you catch my drift…no need to start a revolution here.

What I haven’t come across though is many articles that actually talk about the “now what”?

“I quit my job because I hated it”. “I decided to ignore house chores because they’re overrated and I’m too cool for school”. “Assignment? Deadlines? You talking to me?”.

Does reality set in? It will eventually.

Then what?

Panic? Maybe (more like, of course!!).

Scrambling to pick up the pieces? Frustration? Borderline depression? A little more frustration? Kicking yourself for even listening to what those articles/motivational speakers had to say?

Before getting yourself into that never-ending spiral of despair, what about remembering your why?

Why do you even go to that job you so detest? Because you want to save up enough capital to fund your own business? Or maybe it’s as simple as not having found another job to transition to and someone’s got to pay the bills.

The chores? Because you don’t want to live in a pigsty maybe?

The deadline? You built a reputation around being a person of your word?

What’s your reason for doing any of those annoying things in life? Write them down and keep that list handy next time you decide to veg out instead of…creating that awesome newsletter your peeps are waiting for.

Or those mouth watering coconut muffins your friends cannot get enough of.
Or that contagious positivity and sense of hope that your family/friends may need (and, who knows, may ultimately bring you joy too).
